Basketball Recap: Aurora Central Find Success

Aurora Central won the last time they faced Skyview, and Alejandro (Alex) Flores did his part to make sure it happened again. The Aurora Central Trojans came out on top against the Skyview Wolverines by a score of 48-40 on Tuesday thanks in part to Flores, who went 7 for 17 en route to 19 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Aurora Central's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Gabou (Ben) Camara, who posted six points in addition to ten rebounds and four blocks. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played.

Skyview's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabriel Guevara, who put up 12 points along with five boards and four steals. Guevara is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Robin Campos Laos was another key player, putting up nine points.

Aurora Central's record now sits at 5-7. As for Skyview, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Aurora Central has already played their next contest (against Gateway), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Skyview has also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against Adams City.
