Volleyball Game Preview: Southern Nash Firebirds vs. Hunt Warriors

The Southern Nash Firebirds will square off against the Hunt Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Southern Nash comes in on four and Hunt on five.

While Southern Nash's win against Northern Nash wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Firebirds skirted past the Knights 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Firebirds have posted since October 8, 2024.

Southern Nash wouldn't go down easily and took Northern Nash into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-17, 25-13, 22-25, 15-10.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Hunt and C.B. Aycock, and Hunt kept the tradition alive. The Warriors walked away with a 3-1 win over the Golden Falcons on Tuesday.

The victory didn't come easy: C.B. Aycock scored at least 20 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 21-25, 25-23, 25-20.

Southern Nash's win bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Hunt, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Southern Nash took their win against Hunt in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Firebirds repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
