Baseball Game Preview: Harding University Rams vs. Berry Cardinals

Harding University hasn't had much luck against Berry recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Rams will head out to face off against the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Harding University has given up an average of 17.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Harding University is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They came up short against Chambers, falling 22-1.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Berry took on Garinger on Wednesday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 10-8.

Aiden Lowery was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Xavier Wilson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Tyler Davis, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Berry has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Harding University, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Harding University suffered a grim 24-10 defeat to Berry when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
