Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Windsor

Windsor extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday, bumping them up to 17-5. They had just enough and edged out the Rocky Mountain Lobos 54-52. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wizards' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Lobos are ranked 81st).

Gracie Worsley had another great game (as she tends to do), dropping a double-double with 24 points and 25 rebounds. Those 24 points gave her a new career-high. Sabella Hilliard was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to 11 boards and three steals.

Windsor smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

As for Rocky Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. They have struggled against Windsor recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Mia Thomas and Arina Chernaia certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Thomas shot 46% from the field on her way to 15 points and four steals, while Chernaia posted 15 points. Thomas is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 21 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addilyn Bailey, who put up six points and eight rebounds.

Windsor has already played their next contest, a 71-37 victory against Loveland on the 19th. As for Rocky Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-53 win against Fossil Ridge on the 19th.
