Recap: Newton County Cougars vs. Quitman Panthers
The Newton County Cougars lost against the Quitman Panthers two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Newton County fell 41-33 to Quitman. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Newton County in their matchups with Quitman: they've now lost four in a row.
Quitman had a senior duo take command as AUDRIANA HARRIS dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds and AALIYAH NIXON scored 17 points along with 3 steals. The match was HARRIS's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahyla Dubuse, who scored 8 points.
Newton County's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Quitman, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Newton County will head out on the road to face off against Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Quitman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Heidelberg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
