Football Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Dougherty Valley + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against James Logan, Dougherty Valley was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 13-6 win over the California Grizzlies. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Wildcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 327th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 28th).

Kaitlyn Lohe had another great game (as she tends to do), rushing for 169 yards and one TD while picking up 10.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 195 yards and one touchdown. Dougherty Valley is undefeated when Lohe posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 0-4 otherwise. 110 of Lohe's passing yards were hauled in by Lauren Lohe.

Dougherty Valley's record is now 3-4. As for California, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Looking ahead, Dougherty Valley will face off against Northgate at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for California, they will take on Pittsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
