Basketball Game Preview: Columbus North Bull Dogs vs. East Central Trojans

The Columbus North Bull Dogs and the East Central Trojans will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Columbus North is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Columbus East 70-38. The Bull Dogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Columbus North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hadassah Hurt led the charge by putting up 13 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Hurt a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Kaylie Harmon, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Meanwhile, East Central earned a 51-38 win over Franklin Community on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Columbus North's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for East Central, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

Columbus North strolled past East Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 56-41. Will Columbus North repeat their success, or does East Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
