Baseball Recap: Brocton Bulldogs vs. Westfield Wolverines

Brocton extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 7-9 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Westfield Wolverines. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on Monday.

As for Westfield, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

For Westfield's part, the team relied heavily on Danny Bratton, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Bratton is becoming a predictor of the Wolverines' success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when he doesn't). Ian Kindermann was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs.

Looking ahead, Brocton is taking a road trip to square off against Salamanca at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
