Volleyball Recap: Padua Franciscan Bruins vs. Bay Rockets
Padua Franciscan extended their postseason success on Thursday against Bay. They skirted past the Bay Rockets 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Bruins sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Padua Franciscan who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 20-25, 27-25, 27-29, 15-12.
Padua Franciscan found their leader in sophomore Cathryn Ruggiero, who had 15 digs and two aces. Those 15 digs set a new season-high mark for Ruggiero. The team also got some help courtesy of Giulia Reginelli, who had 32 digs and a kill.
Padua Franciscan now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Bay, they moved to 21-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
Padua Franciscan has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Gilmour Academy on the 31st. Bay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
