The Sipsey Valley Bears will look to defend their home field against the Tuscaloosa County Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sipsey Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Paul W. Bryant 11-1 on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bears considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, Tuscaloosa County faced Bob Jones in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. Tuscaloosa County won by a run and slipped past Bob Jones 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on four straight.

Tuscaloosa County got a great performance from Tate Pettus as he tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Pettus has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Tuscaloosa County's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brooks Mellown, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Sipsey Valley and bumps their season record up to 5-13. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Tuscaloosa County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
