Basketball Recap: Prairie Picks Up Seventh Straight Win on the Road

Prairie had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They walked away with a 74-61 win over the Clear Creek-Amana Clippers. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Clippers are ranked 54th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Prairie's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points per game. As for Clear Creek-Amana, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prairie will head out to take on Hempstead at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clear Creek-Amana, they will square off against Vinton-Shellsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clear Creek-Amana is facing Vinton-Shellsburg at the right time seeing as Vinton-Shellsburg is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
