Basketball Game Preview: Thomas Jefferson Spartans vs. Regis Groff Fusion

The Thomas Jefferson Spartans will head out to square off against the Regis Groff Fusion at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Thomas Jefferson is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Golden on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Thomas Jefferson was dealt a 62-19 defeat at the hands of Golden. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-11.

Despite the loss, Thomas Jefferson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Anisa Adrovic posted 11 points. Sophia Shon also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Meanwhile, Regis Groff hadn't done well against Denver North recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Regis Groff had just enough and edged Denver North out 49-47.

Thomas Jefferson has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Regis Groff, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.
