Volleyball Game Preview: Durango Trailblazers vs. Liberty Patriots

After both having extra time off, the Durango Trailblazers and the Liberty Patriots will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Durango will be strutting in after a win while Liberty will be coming in after a loss.

Liberty will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Durango extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday. The Trailblazers walked away with a 3-1 victory over Doral Academy Red Rock.

Durango was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-17, 24-26, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Liberty faced Coronado in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Patriots came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Liberty had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-19, 25-18.

Durango's win bumped their record up to 13-18. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-12.

Durango couldn't quite get it done against Liberty in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 2-0. Can the Trailblazers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
