Faith Bible Christian will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Portland Adventist Academy Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
After soaring to 55 points the game before, Faith Bible Christian were a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They had to suffer through a rough 60-25 loss at the hands of Kennedy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Faith Bible Christian has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Portland Adventist Academy came tearing into Wednesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 63-59 W over Scio. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Caleb Custer and Dane Petersen were among the main playmakers for Portland Adventist Academy as the former scored 17 points along with five rebounds and five steals and the latter scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Petersen has scored at least 25% of Portland Adventist Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Francis Saliba, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Faith Bible Christian and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Portland Adventist Academy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1.
