The Puckett Wolves will venture away from home to challenge the Raleigh Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Puckett is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
On Monday, Puckett sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over Pisgah. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolves have posted against the Dragons since March 8, 2022.

Lila Murphy made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Brooke Shivers was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Raleigh came up short against Seminary on Monday and fell 9-5. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Like Puckett, Raleigh also got a great game from a two-way player: Kallee McWilliams. She pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McWilliams was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Raleigh got a big performance out of Kinley Delcid, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Lydia Bryant, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.
Puckett pushed their record up to 14-6-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Raleigh, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14-1.
Puckett took their win against Raleigh in their previous matchup on Friday by a conclusive 8-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
