Volleyball Recap: Coronado Takes Down Ranked Centennial + How To Watch

Coronado faced Centennial in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Cougars came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Coronado was especially dominant in the fourth set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-19, 20-25, 25-7.

Coronado was led to victory by ISABELLE GUERZON and NAKISA FRIEDMAN. GUERZON had 21 digs and four aces, while FRIEDMAN had nine digs. GUERZON has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Coronado was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centennial only served six.

Defeat or not, Centennial got some senior leadership from Dalilah Carvajal and Hazel Jauregui. Carvajal had 31 assists and ten digs, while Jauregui had seven digs and two aces.

Coronado's victory bumped their record up to 22-8. As for Centennial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-15 record this season.

Coronado has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Durango on the 22nd. As for Centennial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Arbor View on the 22nd.
