Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Spring-Ford

Spring-Ford waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Pottsgrove Falcons get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. The Rams have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.

Spring-Ford got a great performance from Dom Ruggiero as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Ruggiero a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Luca Cavaliere was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Witmer, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Spring-Ford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Spring-Ford now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Pottsgrove, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Spring-Ford will square off against rival Upper Merion Area at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Pottsgrove is set to take on their familiar foe Boyertown at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
