Softball Recap: Central Columbia Beats Shamokin Area for Their Fourth Straight Win

Central Columbia waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They had just enough and edged out the Shamokin Area Indians 8-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 27-12 back in April.

Central Columbia's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Shamokin Area, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Central Columbia will look to defend their home field on Friday against Loyalsock Township at 4:30 p.m. As for Shamokin Area, they will head out to take on Montoursville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
