Basketball Game Preview: Vassar Vulcans vs. Millington Cardinals

Vassar is 2-8 against Millington since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Vassar Vulcans will challenge the Millington Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. Vassar is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season.

Vassar saw some tournament action on Monday. They strolled past Lakeville with points to spare, taking the game 62-43.

Austin Long continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, en route to 33 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Brown, who to rack up 10 points in addition to seven blocks and six boards.

Meanwhile, Millington entered their tilt with Bendle on Friday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They took down the Tigers 71-56. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Tigers are ranked 386th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Vassar's record now sits at 9-14. As for Millington, their record now sits at 20-2.

Vassar ended up a good deal behind Millington in their previous matchup back in January, losing 66-50. Can Vassar avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
