Recap: Bennington Badgers vs. Norris Titans

The Bennington Badgers were the 41-38 winner over the Norris Titans when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Bennington fell 57-47 to Norris on Friday. While losing is never fun, Bennington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Norris is ranked fifth).
Despite the defeat, Bennington saw an underclassman step up: Skylar Johnson scored 13 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Robinson, who scored six points.
Norris can attribute much of their success to Grace Kohler, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nicole Keetle, who scored ten points.
Bennington's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Norris, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
Bennington won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Omaha North at 2:30 p.m. on January 20th. Hopefully Omaha North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 two weeks ago. As for Norris, they will head out on the road to challenge Hastings at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
