Soccer Game Preview: Atascadero vs. Paso Robles

Atascadero hasn't had much luck against Paso Robles recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Atascadero Greyhounds will be home for the holidays to greet the Paso Robles Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Atascadero will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Arroyo Grande, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Atascadero had just enough and edged Arroyo Grande out 2-1. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Greyhounds' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while the Eagles are ranked 131st).

Grady Russell and Colton Russell scored both of Atascadero's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, Paso Robles kept a clean sheet against Templeton on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the Eagles out 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bearcats.

Atascadero's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Paso Robles, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
