The Grand County Red Devils will face off against the Duchesne Eagles at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Grand County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season.

Grand County is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since March 4th on Saturday. They lost 9-3 to Shelley. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

CHLOE Byrd put in work while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Byrd was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

Byrd wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hope Shumway, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Duchesne is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Highland. Duchesne fell just short of Highland by a score of 4-3. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Chezney Farnsworth was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2. Farnsworth is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Duchesne's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Grand County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Duchesne's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Grand County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Duchesne, though, as they've been averaging only 2.8 strikeouts. Will Grand County keep running through batters, or will Duchesne buck the trend?
