Football Recap: Swansboro Pirates vs. East Carteret Mariners

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Swansboro ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past the East Carteret Mariners with a 34-28 victory. The win almost wasn't to be: the Pirates were down 21-7 in the second quarter.

Carmello Beasley had another great game (as he tends to do), picking up 149 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also punching in a pair of scores on the ground. He was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 50 yards.

East Carteret's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke McIntosh, who threw for 129 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 31 yards and one touchdown.
