Softball Game Preview: Lamphere Rams vs. Center Line Panthers

The Lamphere Rams will venture away from home to take on the Center Line Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lamphere is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Lamphere came up short against Clawson and fell 7-4. The Rams have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Brooke Harrison (2025) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Emilie Eritano (2025) made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Hayden Gum (2025), who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Center Line was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Mott, falling 15-0.

Center Line's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Lamphere, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.

Center Line's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lamphere hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. It's a different story for Center Line, though, as they've only averaged .159. Will they be able to contain Lamphere's hitters?

Everything went Lamphere's way against Center Line when the teams last played back in April, as Lamphere made off with a 15-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
