Baseball Recap: 11 Straight Home Wins for Providence Academy

Providence Academy's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Spectrum Sting a 3-0 shutout. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Sting recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Providence Academy got a great performance from Gavin Wyant as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave Wyant a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Joe Berghult was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Albert, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Providence Academy pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Spectrum, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-5.

Providence Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Spectrum, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg at 7:00 p.m.
