Football Recap: Malcolm Finds Playoff Glory Versus Lincoln Lutheran

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Malcolm had no problem doing just that on Friday. They snuck past the Lincoln Lutheran Warriors with a 28-24 victory. The win continues a trend for the Clippers in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won five in a row.

Brixon Meyer had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 69 yards and two scores, while also picking up 96 receiving yards and one touchdown. He showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 54 yards. Another player making a difference was Preston Kucera, who picked up 88 receiving yards and one TD.

Another reason for the win was Malcolm's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece.

Malcolm's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Lincoln Lutheran, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.

Coming up, Malcolm will square off against Kearney Catholic on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Clippers 13.1, the Stars 13.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Lincoln Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
