Baseball Recap: Burbank Comes Up Short

Burbank fell victim to Seguin and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Matadors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Matadors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in March.

Cesar Saldana spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits.

Burbank's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Seguin, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 22-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Burbank will take on Sam Houston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hurricanes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.19 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Seguin, they will face off against Highlands at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
