Basketball Game Preview: Grady Bronchos vs. Melrose Buffaloes

Grady is 0-10 against Melrose since April of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Grady Bronchos will take on the Melrose Buffaloes at 5:30 p.m.

Grady had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least 55 points, but Fort Sumner/House put an end to it on Saturday. Grady was dealt a 67-22 loss at the hands of Fort Sumner/House. The Bronchos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-10.

Meanwhile, Melrose came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 54.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Broncos 76-26. With the Buffaloes ahead 55-13 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Melrose has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for Grady, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Grady was dealt a bruising 72-35 loss at the hands of Melrose in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Grady avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
