Soccer Game Preview: Fluvanna County vs. Charlottesville

Fluvanna County hasn't had much luck against Charlottesville recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Flying Flucos will head out on the road to square off against the Black Knights at 7:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Fluvanna County fell victim to Monticello and their airtight defense on Monday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Fluvanna County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Monticello are ranked 110th).

Meanwhile, Charlottesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to Orange County. That's two games in a row now that Charlottesville have lost by exactly two goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Fluvanna County and nudges their season record down to 2-7-1. As for Charlottesville, they now have a losing record of 4-5-1.

Fluvanna County might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Charlottesville when the teams last played on April 7th. Can the Flying Flucos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
