Baseball Recap: East Wake Academy Has No Trouble Against Kerr-Vance Academy

East Wake Academy won the last time they faced Kerr-Vance Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The East Wake Academy Eagles were the clear victor by a 26-4 margin over the Kerr-Vance Academy Spartans. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Robbie Johnston made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Johnston was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Dexter Benton was incredible, firing off two home runs, nine RBI, and five runs while going 5-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (five). Jordan Driver was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

East Wake Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kerr-Vance Academy only posted an OBP of .375.

East Wake Academy's record is now 2-0. As for Kerr-Vance Academy, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-3.

Looking ahead, East Wake Academy will host Neuse Charter at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Kerr-Vance Academy, they will face off against Cape Fear Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
