Basketball Game Preview: South Bend Riley Wildcats vs. Mishawaka Cavemen

The South Bend Riley Wildcats will square off against the Mishawaka Cavemen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Bend Riley has five straight wins, Mishawaka has 17 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

South Bend Riley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging a 62-26 victory over Morgan Township.

Meanwhile, Mishawaka came up short against Goshen on Thursday and fell 44-32.

South Bend Riley will need focus on slowing down Tinayja Summers, one of several Mishawaka players who made an impact when they last played. She posted eight points along with ten boards and three steals. Summers has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Grace Betzer was another key player, putting up nine points.

South Bend Riley pushed their record up to 14-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.2 points. As for Mishawaka, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-20.

Everything came up roses for South Bend Riley against Mishawaka in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 58-19 victory. In that contest, South Bend Riley amassed a halftime lead of 31-8, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
