Volleyball Game Preview: Urban Blues vs. Piedmont Highlanders + Official Tickets

The Urban Blues will venture away from home to face off against the Piedmont Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Urban lost 3-0 to Marin Academy on Wednesday. The Blues haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Urban was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-19, 26-24, 25-7.

Meanwhile, Piedmont came up short against Bishop O'Dowd on Friday and fell 3-1.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-18, 20-25, 25-15.

Despite the defeat, Piedmont saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Olivia Stevens had 21 digs and six assists. Stevens is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 15 games she's played.

Piedmont's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Urban, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Urban couldn't quite get it done against Piedmont in their previous matchup back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Blues avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
