Recap: Benson Bunnies vs. Bryan Bears
The Benson Bunnies pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bryan. Benson has struggled against Bryan recently, as their contest on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Benson still got an impressive performance from Goanar Bamach, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 24 rebounds. Bamach scored a full 46.7% of Benson's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Even though they lost, Benson were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bryan only pulled down ten.
Bryan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was A'mare Bynum out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Rodriguez, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Benson's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bryan, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Benson's road trip will continue as they head out to face Westview. As for Bryan, they will square off against Omaha North at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Omaha North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
