Baseball Game Preview: Humboldt Wildcats vs. Webster City Lynx

The Humboldt Wildcats will head out to take on the Webster City Lynx at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Humboldt has four straight wins, Webster City has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Thursday, Humboldt was able to grind out a solid victory over Waterloo West, taking the game 6-2.

Meanwhile, Webster City didn't have quite enough to beat Pocahontas on Thursday and fell 3-2.

Humboldt pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for Webster City, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10-1.
