Baseball Recap: Six Straight Road Victories for Madison

Madison got themselves on the board against Kinnelon on Monday, but Kinnelon never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Colts with a sharp 15-0 win. The Dodgers have beaten the Colts the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Colts has come to flipping the script.

James Doehner looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Sam Burke was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Patrick Layng was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Madison's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Kinnelon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Madison will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Colts: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
