Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Orangeburg Prep

It's playoff time, and Orangeburg Prep had no trouble coming through when it counted. They won by a run and slipped past the Patrick Henry Academy Patriots 5-4. The win was nothing new for the Gladiators as they're now sitting on three straight.

Marshall Livingston was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Livingston was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Cholly Williams was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Orangeburg Prep's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is undefeated (and 7-8 when he doesn't). Maxx Judy was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Orangeburg Prep lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Orangeburg Prep's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Patrick Henry Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Orangeburg Prep nor Patrick Henry Academy have any future games scheduled.
