Volleyball Recap: Yuma Takes a Loss

Yuma lost against Akron back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Outlaws fell just short of the Rams by a score of 2-1.

Taryn Sheffield paced Yuma's offense, picking up nine kills. Sheffield got some help from Bailey Nighswonger and her 15 assists. Lauren Gonzales controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Yuma's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Akron, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Yuma has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Kit Carson on the 23rd. As for Akron, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Wiley on the 23rd.
