Basketball Recap: Tanner Comes Up Short

Tanner lost against Athens back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Rattlers fell 74-63 to the Golden Eagles.

When it comes to explaining why Tanner lost, don't look at Kaden Freeman. Despite the final result, he went 5-for-12 to rack up 13 points along with seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Pryor, who shot 67% from the field en route to 14 points.

Tanner's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Athens, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Tanner will face off against Lauderdale County at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Athens, they will take on Lawrence County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
