Baseball Game Preview: Rangeview Raiders vs. Montbello Warriors

The Rangeview Raiders will challenge the Montbello Warriors at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Rangeview and six for Montbello.

Rangeview came up short against Alameda on Friday, falling 15-5.

William Stevenson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Fabian Amaya, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Montbello lost 15-5 to Glenwood Springs on Thursday.

Corian Witcher was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one RBI. Angel Maldonado also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Montbello's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Rangeview, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

Montbello's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Rangeview has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Montbello, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Rangeview keep running through batters, or will the Warriors buck the trend?

Rangeview might still be hurting after the 14-1 loss they got from Montbello when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
