Basketball Recap: Rochester Takes a Loss

Rochester had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 2-3 to make it five. They came up short against the Maconaquah Braves, falling 49-26. The Zebras were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-8.

Despite the loss, Rochester still got an impressive performance from Jadyn Field, who posted ten points along with seven boards and three steals.

As for Maconaquah, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 23 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Ireland Kile, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 15 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Those five steals gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Stoll, who went 6-for-8 en route to 13 points and four steals.

Looking ahead, Rochester will head out to challenge Tippecanoe Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Zebras surely won't give up without a fight. As for Maconaquah, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Miami at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
