Softball Recap: Natchitoches Central Comes Up Short

If Natchitoches Central was feeling good fresh off their 25-3 takedown of Neville on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Natchitoches Central Chiefs fell just short of the Brusly Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Saturday.

Sydney Terrell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero).

On the hitting side, Natchitoches Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maggie Massia, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits Massia has posted since back in April of 2024. Morgan Robinson was another, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one double.

Natchitoches Central dropped their record down to 3-9 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Brusly, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Coming up, Natchitoches Central will challenge Airline at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brusly, they will welcome West Feliciana at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
