Baseball Recap: Greenback Comes Up Short

Greenback was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 5-0 to the Anderson County Mavericks. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Cherokees' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Greenback's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenback will venture away from home to challenge King's Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Anderson County, they will face off against Powell at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Mavericks surely won't give up without a fight.
