Softball Game Preview: Killeen Kangaroos vs. Tyler Legacy Raiders

The Killeen Kangaroos will take on the Tyler Legacy Raiders in a tournament on Thursday. Killeen is looking for their season's first win.

Things were looking good for Killeen after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Chaparral, falling 19-4.

Meanwhile, Tyler Legacy suffered their closest loss since February 24, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Mesquite by a score of 11-9.

ReNaa Hicks made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadison Maxey, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run.

Even though they lost, Tyler Legacy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in five consecutive games.

Tyler Legacy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Killeen, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Killeen suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to Tyler Legacy when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Killeen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
