Volleyball Recap: Abigail Sutton Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Rich Hill

Archie won the last time they faced Rich Hill and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Whirlwinds put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 win. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since October 19, 2023, but that streak is no more.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Archie was: they took every set by at least 15 points. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-9, 25-10.

Archie's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Abigail Sutton, who had 12 digs. Those 12 digs gave Sutton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elsie Parsons, who had six assists and three aces.

Archie was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 20 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Archie's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Rich Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Archie will square off against Midway at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rich Hill, they will challenge Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
