Basketball Recap: Rosa Fort Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

There's no place like home for Rosa Fort, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They took down the Independence Wildcats 62-44 on Wednesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 71-68 back in December of 2024.

Independence lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kenyon Dowl, who posted 14 points. The dominant performance gave Dowl a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Tarrell Wilson, who had seven points and six rebounds.

Rosa Fort pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.1 points per game. As for Independence, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season.

Rosa Fort wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 59-38 defeat against Coahoma County on the 24th. As for Independence, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-53 win against Ashland on the 23rd.
