Softball Recap: South Umpqua Beats Glide for Their 17th Straight Victory

South Umpqua waltzed into their contest on Friday with 16 straight wins... but they left with 17. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Glide Wildcats an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won 19 games by ten runs or more so far this season.

South Umpqua pushed their record up to 22-4 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Glide, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 18-8 record.

As of now, neither South Umpqua nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
