Basketball Recap: Rosman Tigers vs. Owen Warhorses

In what's become a running theme this season, the Rosman Tigers gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They claimed a resounding 75-44 win over Owen at home. Rosman's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Marlee Carnathan had an outrageously good game as she scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alissa Cheek, who scored 14 points.

When it comes to explaining why Owen lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ellie Martin. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine rebounds. Martin has been hot recently, having posted five or more steals the last four times she's played. Mia Roland was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Rosman is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Owen, they dropped their record down to 3-18 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rosman will challenge the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Draughn will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 338th, while the Tigers are ranked 151st). As for Owen, they will head out on the road to take on the at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. NCSSM: Morganton comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last 13 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
