Football Recap: Denmark vs. Lambert Longhorns

If Denmark was feeling good fresh off their 32-7 takedown of South Forsyth last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Denmark were beaten by the Lambert Longhorns 48-20 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Denmark of the 38-30 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.

Denmark lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Dylan Brozena, who picked up 110 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Cameron Bland was his usual excellent self, rushing for 128 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also picking up 98 receiving yards and two touchdowns for Lambert. Bland got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 81 yards. Carter Chung made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

With the loss, Denmark broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-5. As for Lambert, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Denmark will square off against North Atlanta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Atlanta is coming into the match with five straight wins at home, so Denmark will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Lambert, they will face off against South Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lambert will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
