After a 19-9 finish the last time they played, Arroyo and Bishop O'Dowd decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. The Arroyo Dons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Bishop O'Dowd Dragons on Friday. The win was just what Arroyo needed coming off of an 11-2 loss in their prior contest.

Lily Williams was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ariana Rocha, who went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI.

On Bishop O'Dowd's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Priya Kasling, who went 3-for-3 with a stolen base.

Arroyo's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5. As for Bishop O'Dowd, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arroyo will take on Encinal at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Encinal's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Arroyo's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bishop O'Dowd, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mt. Eden at 4:00 p.m. on April 10th.
