Baseball Recap: Cotulla Takes a Loss

Cotulla came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Crystal City Javelinas, falling 12-5. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Javelinas apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Cotulla saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eric Aldaco, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Trevor Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Cotulla has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's still a better percentage than their 2-8-1 record this season. Crystal City's record now sits at 9-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cotulla will face off against rival Dilley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Crystal City is set to challenge their familiar foe Lytle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
